When I was a child, my parents took my sister and me on a cruise to Turkey. I always recall how magical it was. Cruising has changed a lot since, but when the opportunity came up to go on a lunch cruise from Perth city to Fremantle, we have jumped at the opportunity.
For someone who will not go anywhere where there is a queue, or where there is waiting involved, I was amazed how well Captain Cook Cruises did it all.
As soon as we boarded, we were shown to our own table with our name on it. The bar opened as soon as we left port and the captain's commentary of the sights we passed was simply delightful.
The food was simple, but delicious (one meat and one vegetarian option), lots of fresh salads, fruits, desserts, and an astounding array of condiments.
The selection at the bar was better than some restaurant's drink options, including Veuve Clicquot, which certainly made my day.
Next time, we might try this at night.
